Q: Who is the conference for?

A: The conference is for all attorneys! The laid-back atmosphere provides a great setting for camaraderie. Likewise, this is a great place to meet your judges, network with colleagues and get referrals from other attorneys. For these reasons, the conference is ideal for both newly licensed attorneys and for experienced trial lawyers. We have plenty of judges from Federal Courts, Appellate Courts, Civil District Courts and Criminal District Courts. We encourage participation across the Bar.

Q: How do I register?

A: Click here to register online. Acceptable payments include Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Or, you may send a completed registration form with your payment to the Dallas Bar Association, 2101 Ross Avenue, Dallas Texas 75201.

Q: What is the deadline for registration? Early Bird discount?

A: The deadline for all registrations is August 14, 2009. However, we could sell out before that date. Please register now to avoid missing the conference! We offer early-bird special discounts to every member who registers before 5:00 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2009.

Q: What does my registration fee include?

A: Registration pricing includes accommodations for Thursday and Friday nights, all meals, CLE credit, complimentary cocktail receptions and numerous recreational activities.

Q: Are scholarships available?

A: Yes, limited partial scholarships are available. Because we want to extend assistance to as many applicants as possible and because this event is a fundraiser for the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program, scholarship awards must be based on need and will not exceed $100 per attorney. First-time applicants who are active in the DBA/DBF will be given priority. Please contact Rhonda Thornton for more information.

Q: How many hours of CLE will I get and how do I submit?

A: The conference provides 6.5 hours of CLE including 0.5 hours of Ethics credit. Please complete a CLE card at the conference. One card works for both days of presentations. Just make sure that you log the proper hours if you do not attend the full conference.

Q: Are there driving directions and/or a map available to the resort?

A: Sure! Please refer to the attached travel directions.

Q: What if I want to come early or stay an extra night?

A: Please contact the hotel at 830-598-8600 to arrange for your stay before or after the conference. Do mention that you are with the Dallas Bar group to get our group rate.

Q: Do I get a refund if I only stay one night?

A: Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for partial attendance. Because the conference is a package deal, we are unable to split the nights.

Q: How do I cancel my reservation? Can I find a replacement instead?

A: Cancellations must be received in writing to Shawna Bush via e-mail or direct to the Dallas Bar Association, 2101 Ross Avenue, Dallas Texas 75201. No refunds will be issued after August 14, 2009. If you wish to send a replacement, that is fine. Send your replacement contact information to Shawna Bush. Please note if you send a replacement and you were booked for a double room, your replacement will be booked for a double room.
